Das Rifugio-Padon befindet sich auf ca. 2400 m Höhe und liegt am Ende des Padon-Kamms. Vom Rifugio-Padon genießt man einen tollen Blick auf den gegenüberliegenden Gletscher der Marmolada.
Vom Fedaia Pass kann das Rifugio-Padon innerhalb von einer Stunde ganz gemütlich über schöne Wanderwege erreicht werden. Von der bellunesischen Seite kann man das Rifugio mit einem Sessellift, der kurz vor der Passhöhe abfährt, erreichen. Das Rifugio kann als Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Wanderungen oder dem "Via Ferrata delle Trincee" Klettersteig genutzt werden.
