Rifugio La Chardouse

La Chardousë Alpine Shelter takes its name, in patois, from the carlina flower that used to be hung on the doors or facades of mountain houses as an amulet against the nefarious forces of the night and a good omen.

The Alpine Shelter was built from 2004 to 2007 in a late 18th-century hut. The living area and reading room on the ground floor have a beautiful vaulted stone ceiling. The sleeping area is arranged on the upper floors. The lodge also has a large outdoor area.

The mountain-style furnishings create an intimate atmosphere of absolute relaxation.

The menu changes and follows the seasonality of the products. Polenta is alternated with more special recipes inspired by the old-fashioned way of cooking in the high mountains: rustic soups, cheese with blueberry or onion jam, braised beef, stew, and platters of local meats and cheeses. Theme menu evenings are often organized.
