Hardly a 'hut', Bonavau is a lovely alpine chalet that appears like a mirage when you round the bend in the trail. The panorama is striking, with the chalet and its garden full of flowers standing out before the icy bulk of the Ruan Glacier in the background.
Visitors seeking the restful simplicity of yesteryear are welcome to stay the night; three snug dormitories equipped with fluffy duvets offer 5, 6 and 8 places. If you're in need of a bite to eat, Bonaveau's kitchen serves traditional Valaisan specialties, cheese dishes, hearty omelettes, homemade soup and delectable fruit pies.
