Welcome to the Polinik Hut! The starting point is Obervellach, the main town of the Mölltal Valley. By car, drive up the shaded side along a gravel road to the “Schrankenparkplatz” parking lot at about 1,480 meters above sea level. Follow the well-marked trail (sign for “Polinik Hütte”) straight up through the forest; you’ll cross the forest road several times. Finally, after about 60 to 90 minutes, you’ll reach a large alpine meadow with the Polinik Hütte (1,873 m)
This family-friendly hut offers delicious home-style cooking and overnight accommodations. From the sunny hut terrace, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the 3,000-meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park all the way to Lake Millstatt.
Mountain biking and e-biking are permitted and approved from Obervellach to the hut!

The Polinik Hut is a perfect starting point for:

an easy hike of about 60 minutes to the Ebeneck (2,120 m)—the perfect summit experience for the whole family—and an alpine tour for mountaineers to the highest peak of the Kreuzeck Group. In about 2 1/2 hours, you can reach the Polinik (2,784 m) via a well-marked trail [Bn]
