Welcome to this mountain hut!
First things first: click here to reserve a bed using the Alpine Club huts’ online reservation system.
Surrounded by the gentle grassy ridges of the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains, the “Neue Bonner-Hütte” lies at the end of the Laussnitz Valley at an elevation of 1,712 meters above the Adriatic Sea. The hut’s location is of historical significance, as one of the most important north-south routes during Roman times ran through this valley pass, commonly known as “Ebenwald.” The hut is surrounded by rolling hills and mountains reaching up to 2,500 meters in elevation. It’s an excellent hiking area in the summer for families with children and for anyone looking for a more leisurely pace.
Our lodge is part of the “Mit Kindern auf Hütten” campaign, an initiative by the Alpine Clubs in Germany, Austria, and South Tyrol promoting family-friendly lodges. It is suitable for children of school age (7–8 years and older). Our activity areas: Outings to the valley (swimming and museum); climbing wall; large playground.
