Access trail to the mountain hut
In about an hour and a half, we walk from the Karwendelbahn car park to the Mittenwalder Hut.
This rather unusual hut approach is only recommended with very sure-footedness and alpine experience.
Recommendations nearby
The ascent is a challenge, but the summit panorama from the Western Karwendelspitze (2384 m) is worth all the effort.
