Welcome to the Ludwigsburger Hütte!
The Ludwigsburger Hut is located at 1,935 meters on the western slope of the northern Geigenkamm, just below the tree line on an idyllic forest meadow. It is surrounded by the wild and romantic landscape of the Ötztal Alps. The view across to the Kaunergrat mountain range is one of the most beautiful in the Eastern Alps.
Our hut is part of the “Mit Kindern auf Hütten”(With Kids at Mountain Huts) campaign, an initiative by the Alpine Clubs in Germany, Austria, and South Tyrol to promote family-friendly huts. It is suitable for children ages 7 to 8 and older.
Even the short approach hike and the idyllic location in the middle of a vast, nature-friendly “adventure playground” make the hut an ideal destination for families. At a real playground near the hut, even younger children can romp around to their heart’s content.
The valley station of the equipment cable car is located right next to the parking lot. Luggage transport is available for a small fee; it’s free for families.
The area is also suitable for ski touring in the spring. The well-equipped winter shelter here serves as a good starting point.
