As a pioneer base, the Krefelder Hütte was built over a hundred years ago. Expanded and renovated piece by piece, it is today a modern mountain hut, which could preserve its charm despite all the renovations.
On the spacious and ever so-popular, sunny terrace you can experience beautiful moments and enjoy the special dishes from the kitchen.

Directions
By cable car: Comfortable ascent with the Gletscherbahn to the Alpincenter (2,450 m) or with the MK Maiskogel cable car and 3K K-ONNECTION from Kaprun to Langwied, then with the Gletscherjet to the Alpincenter. From here descend on the hiking trail to the hut - walking time about 20 minutes.By mountain bike: From Kaprun follow the mountain bike path no. 11J Kitzsteinhorn via Maiskogel. Level of difficulty - difficult. You also can reach the hut via the F3 Geißstein Trail (Single Trail).
On foot, there are various options available:
- From Kaprun/near the Gletscherbahn car park (871 m): From the First Mountain Hotel follow path no. 711 to the hut. Level of difficulty: medium. Hiking time approx. 5 hours.
- From Maiskogel (1,670 m): From the top station along the Alexander Enzinger path with its spectacular views to the hut. Hiking time approx. 3.5 hours (approx. 6.5 hours from the valley station of the MK Maiskogel cable car). ATTENTION! Sure-footedness and a head of heights required!
- From Niedernsill (770 m): Starting from the centre of the village through the Mühlbachtal valley on to the Lakarscharte (2,488 m). From here descend to the hut. Walking time approx. 7 hours.
