Am Fuße der Serles(2718m) liegt der Wallfahrtsort und Klostergasthof Maria Waldrast(1640m). Der Klostergasthof ist von Matrei (Brenner-Autobahn) rund 6,5 km entfernt und auf einer gut ausgebauten Bergstrasse leicht erreichbar. Ausgedehnte Wälder und herrliche Almgründe machen Maria Waldrast zu einem Ort der Erholung und einer Oase der Besinnung, als auch zu einem idealen Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Bergtouren.
Das Gasthaus ermöglicht ein gemütliches Beisammensein von Gruppen. Sonnenhungrige kommen auf der grosszügig angelegten Sonnenterrasse voll auf ihre Rechnung. Die gute Küche bietet für jeden etwas. Das Haus ist bestens geeignet für Familienurlaube, Seminare und Gruppenprojekte. 45 Betten in 21 Zimmern mit Komfortausstattung alle mit Dusche/WC und TV-Anschluss.
Das Kloster gehört dem Servitenorden an. Seit Menschengedenken ist es ein Wallfahrtsort. Das Wasser, das aus der Quelle hervortritt, spricht man heilende Wirkung zu. Maria Waldrast ist der heiligen Mutter Gottes geweiht.
