In the wild and romantic Vilstal, between Pfronten and the Tannheimer Valley, lies the Kalbelehof Alpe.

As the name suggests, the Kalbelehof Alpe is only open from the beginning to the end of the alpine grazing season. In the spring, farmers drive their young cattle (Schumpen) to the alpine pastures. There, they feast on the lush grasses before returning to their home stables in the fall.

From June to early September, hikers and mountain bikers can enjoy a snack at the Kalbelehof Alpe, taking in a unique view of the beautiful Vilstal, surrounded by freely roaming Allgäu brown cattle.

Opening times

The 2024 alpine season is over and the hut is closed. The Kalbelehof Alpe is looking forward to welcoming you again in the 2025 Alpine season!

Hallo Irene, der Weg ist teilweise asphaltiert und hat teilweise den Charakter eines Feldwegs - grundsätzlich sollte die Wegbeschaffenheit aber schon geeignet sein, um den Weg mit einem Rollstuhl zu passieren. Du musst dir aber bitte bewusst sein, dass der letztmögliche Parkplatz von der Kalbelehofalpe 5 km (also hin und zurück 10 km) entfern liegt. Und ein paar Höhenmeter sind schon auch mit dabei. Hallo Hans-Hermann, die Kalbelehof Alpe hat jeweils am Montag und Dienstag Ruhetag. Von Mittwoch bis Sonntag ist die Alpe ab 10:00 Uhr geöffnet. Viele Grüße aus dem Haus des Gastes in Pfronten Johannes Babel Pfronten Tourismus
