A warm welcome to this mountain hut!
The Hochstubaihütte (3,174 m) is one of the highest mountain huts in the Eastern Alps and the highest DAV hut in the Stubai Alps. Located on the summit of the Wildkarspitze, the hut offers a magnificent panoramic view stretching from the Zugspitze to the Dolomites. It was built in the 1930s by the Dresden section of the DuOeAV and was officially inaugurated in 1938. After World War II, it was managed by the ÖAV until it was repurchased by the Dresden section in the 1970s.
The challenging hike to the hut can be done either from Sölden via the Kleblealm (4 hours) or from the Gasthaus Fiegl/Windachalm, past Lake Seekarsee via the Himmelsleiter (3.5 hours).
