It was rebuilt in 2018 using white spruce wood from the Alba Valley Regional Forest and thus harvested sustainably.
The setting is one of the wildest in the area: forests, mugas and open environments where it is not uncommon to encounter fauna and plant species typical of the area. From the bivouac, the view opens up to peaks such as Chiavals, Sernio and Grauzaria, with a wide and unhumanized panorama.
It is an ideal destination for a rewarding hike or as a foothold to climb Mount Chiavals or other peaks in the area.
Useful information:
- Beds: 6
- Water: non-potable and still available depending on seasonal weather patterns
- Stove not present
Shelters are a valuable asset to our area, providing hikers with a valuable foothold for treks. When in use, it is important not to leave traces of one's passage, so we recommend:
- Do not leave food easily accessible to mice and other animals;
- Clean the common areas;
- Take all kinds of waste downstream
This is an always open and unmanaged facility; maintenance is taken care of by the park authority with the vital contribution of local volunteers and all users!
