Die Garneraalpe ist eine im Sommer bewirtschaftet Alpe und liegt auf 1670m.

Verschiedene Spezialitäten, wie etwas der "Sura Kees" werden dort oben gefertigt und können auch gekauft bzw. bestellt werden.

Garneraalpe

Auf der Melkalpe Garnera (ca. 1650m ü.M.) verbringen dieses Jahr 35 Kühe von ca. 10 unterschiedlichen landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben den Sommer. Die Kühe weiden auf den teils steilen Wiesen im Garneratal und werden am "Stofl", wo die Alphütte und der Stall stehen, gemolken. 2009 wurde auch die Sennerei wieder in Betrieb gesetzt und es werden aus erstklassiger Alpenmilch Produkte wie Sura Kees, Butter, der "Saladiner" und Joghurt hergestellt.

Kühe die den Sommer im Garnera verbringen müssen fit sein. Das Abweiden steiler Weiden und teils lange Wege zu den Wiesen können mit Hochleistungskühen nicht bewältigt werden. Alle Achtung vor den ca. 30 Kühen, die uns die Milch für die Sennkuchi aus den besten Alpenkräutern bringen. 15 Jahre wurden im Garnera keine Milchprodukte produziert und die Milch ins Tal zur Molkerei geliefert, seit 2009 wird die Sennkuchi wieder auf Vordermann gebracht und mit modernen Geräten werden aus der wertvollen Milch traditionelle und innovative Produkte hergestellt. Neben dem »Sura Kees« in traditioneller Herstellung und Alpbutter werden neue Produkte wie der »Saladiner« – ein in Salzlake gereifter, schmackhafter Weichkäse – sowie der Ganerataler Schnittkäse und aromatisches Joghurt hergestellt. Die Produkte können direkt bei der Alpe gekauft, oder auf Bestellung in Gaschurn abgeholt werden.

Directions

A14 Richtung innsbruck Abfahrt Bludenz/Montafon nehmen und taleinwärts bis nach Gaschurn fahren. Dort ist dann auf der rechten Seite der Hauptstraße die Talstation der Versettla Bahn und die vielen Parkplätze zu sehen.
