Herzlich willkommen auf dem Furtschaglhaus!
Sozusagen mitten im Zentrum der Zillertaler Alpen liegt das Furtschaglhaus. Mit dem Hochfeiler und dem Großen Möseler liegen die beiden höchsten Gipfel der Zillertaler Alpen in Sichtweite. Während klimabedingt der Zugang zum Hochfeiler nicht mehr zu empfehlen ist, kann der Große Möseler (mit Gletschbegehung) immer noch von hier begangen werden. Aber auch der Große Greiner und der Furtschaglkopf sind lohnenswerte Gipfelziele.
Der aber am meisten von hier aus begangene Gipfel ist das Schönbichler Horn mit einer hervorragenden Aussicht über die Zillertaler Alpen. Der Weg ist Kernstück des Berliner Höhenwegs, die Etappe endet an der Berliner Hütte.
Die Hütte selbst ist ursprünglich eine der ältesten im Zillertal, über die Jahre hinweg erweitert und saniert. Bemerkenswert ist der an drei Seiten verglaste Wintergarten, der bei jedem Wetter einen grandiosen Ausblickauf die Zillertaler Bergwelt bietet, und das auch während des Abendessens.
