Frohsinn Hill Walkers’ Hut

Thanks to a great deal of idealism, tremendous dedication and numerous contributions from the association’s members, the hiking hut has been steadily expanded and modernised over the years. Step by step, a cosy meeting place for hikers and visitors to the region has thus been created. The ongoing development of the facility demonstrates the association’s great commitment right up to the present day. 

The approximately 11.9-kilometre-long ‘Hüttenwanderweg’ quality trail has also been further enhanced thanks to the efforts of volunteers. In 2012, a new fountain was installed at the ‘Frohsinn’ hiking hut. Unfortunately, the old and dilapidated ‘Johann-Josef-Brunnen’ had to be demolished beforehand. The new fountain was named ‘Frohsinn-Brunnen 2012’ – in keeping with the association’s name. 

The Hüttenwanderweg and the hiking hut are now a popular tourist destination for walkers, day-trippers and nature lovers, and contribute to the region’s appeal. 

After it was decided in 2018 that running the hut independently was no longer viable in the long term, the hut was let out. 

Since September 2022, the Lattuca family, who run the hut, have been looking after their guests’ needs with great dedication and hospitality.

The hiking hut offers 75 seats indoors. The covered outdoor area has a further 40 or so seats, and in summer the cosy beer garden, with additional seating, invites visitors to linger. As well as being ideal for walkers and day-trippers, the hut is also perfect for family celebrations, club events and corporate functions.
