Die Kührointalm liegt zwischen Königssee und Watzmann und ist dementsprechend ein viel besuchter Ort im Berchtesgadener Land. Die Kührointhütte selbst bietet Bergsteigerzimmer für bis zu 6 Personen aber auch Zweibettzimmer an.
Nationalpark-Informationstelle
Auf der Kührointalm befindet sich auch die höchstgelegene Informationsstelle des Nationalparks Berchtesgaden. Auch eine kleine Kapelle steht auf Kühroint, sie ist dem Andenken an alle Opfer der Berchtesgadener Berge gewidmet und dem Schutzheiligen der Bergsteiger, dem Heiligten Bernhard von Aosta, geweiht.
Wandern und Mountainbiken zur KührointDie Kühroint Alm ist sehr beliebt bei Wanderern. Sowohl von Ramsau Wimbachbrücke als auch von Hammerstiel Schönau führen Wanderwege auf die Alm. Gerne wird eine Tour zur Kühroint auch mit einer Wanderung auf den Grünstein kombiniert. Bergerfahrene, konditionsstarke, trittsichere und schwindelfreie Bergsteiger schätzen den Rinnkendlsteig, der von Sankt Bartholomä am Königssee auf zur Kühroint führt. Auch der Weiterweg auf den Watzmann bzw. zum Watzmannhaus über den anspruchsvollen Falzsteig bietet sich für konditionsstarke Wanderer an.
Auch Mountainbiker haben mehere Varianten zur Auswahl: Entweder über Hammerstiel in Schönau oder über Wimbachbrücke in Ramsau führen beschilderte Radwege auf die Kühroint. Beide Wege vereinen sich auf der Schapbachalm und führen dann in gemeinsamer Wegführung bis nach Kühroint.
Tipp: Aussichtspunkt Archenkanzel
Nicht entgehen lassen sollte man sich den kurzen Weg von der Kührointalm zur Archenkanzel. Dieser Aussichtspunkt liegt steil oberhalb des Königssees und erlaubt einen fantastischen Tiefblick auf Sankt Bartholomä und 2 Drittel des gesamten Königssees. Von hier führt der Rinnkendlsteig zum See.
