Danube Valley Hut
Our Donautalhütte is located in the heart of the picturesque Upper Danube Nature Park. Members of the DAV Stuttgart Chapter can rent this self-catering cabin, which sleeps 28.
Whether it’s sport climbing, hiking, biking, canoeing, multi-pitch climbing, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, geocaching, or snowshoeing: the outdoor sports opportunities right around the lodge seem endless.
The young Danube winding through gentle meadows, rustling forests on the slopes, dotted with countless striking limestone cliffs: in terms of scenery, too, the Danube Valley ranks among Germany’s gems. A good 100 km south of Stuttgart, the “Däle” offers a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
The spacious terrace of the Donautalhütte invites you to linger, and the newly installed dormitory-style sleeping areas really give you that authentic mountain hut feeling. It’s a 15-minute walk to the Schreyfels for climbing—with its legendary “Opakante”—or a 5-minute walk to the banks of the Danube.
