The imposing Dents Blanches mountains (2756m) dominate the foreground of this enchanting setting which also offers views of the soaring Dents du Midi mountains (3257m), the icy bulk of of the Ruan glacier and the famous Col de Cou pass.
Over the Col du Bretolet pass, just next to the Col de Cou, thousands of migrating birds wing their way to warmer climes every year from August to October (1h30 walk from the Cantine).
This is truly a haven for fauna and flora; home to wild boar, badgers, deer, hares, foxes, marmots, ermines, mouflons and even the elusive chamois.
At the Cantine, we also provide simple accommodations for overnight stays:
