Herzlich willkommen auf der Berliner Hütte!
Die Berliner Hütte ist ursprünglich die älteste Schutzhütte der Zillertaler Alpen. 1879 wurde sie mit einer Größe von 10 x 6 m Grundfläche eröffnet und sollte in den nächsten Jahren durch Zu- und Anbauten eine der größten Hütten im Alpenraum werden. Mit eigener Post- und Telegrafenstation, Telefon, Gaserzeugungsanlage, Wasserkraftwerk, Backstube und Schuhmacherwerkstatt bot die Hütte zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts Technik und Service auf höchstem Niveau.
Noch heute sind Eingangshalle, der Esssaal und der Damensalon mehr als sehenswert und Zeugen der damaligen Zeit. Nicht umsonst wurde die Berliner Hütte als erste Alpenvereinshütte schon 1996 unter Denkmalschutz gestellt!
Die Hütte liegt in einem Hochtal, der Schwarzensteinalm, auf der im Sommer Schafe, Kühe und Pferde weiden. Hier bieten sich mehrere Ausflugsziele in der Umgebung an, wie die Ausläufer von Horn- und Scharzensteinkees oder der Schwarzsee.
Anspruchsvolle Gipfelziele der Umgebung sind Schwarzenstein und Berliner Spitze, noch immer mit Gletscherbegehungen.
Gerade für die Hochsaison ist eine frühzeitige Buchung angesagt, will man eins der vielen kleinen Zimmer erhalten, was sich bei einem Aufenthalt, der über eine Nacht hinausgeht, anbietet. Und das ist bei der Berliner Hütte allemal empfehlenswert!
Die Hütte ist auch Teil der Kampagne Mit Kindern auf Hütten, eine Initiative der Alpenvereine in Deutschland, Österreich und Südtirol für familienfreundliche Hütten. Sie eignet sich für Kinder ab 7-8 Jahren und älter. Die Erlebnisbereiche für Kinder sind: Klimatop-Hochgebirge im Klimawander-Rundweg, Almbäche, viele Tiere und der Schwarzsee.
