Nell’Alpe Pojala (2148 mt), l’alpeggio più alto della valle, viene prodotto il tipico formaggio Bettelmatt, grazie a uno dei 9 produttori, dislocati tra 8 alpeggi a 2000-2500 metri, nell’alta Ossola fra Valle Antigorio e Val Formazza. Qui le mucche trovano l’erba Mutellina (Artemisia umbelliformis) di fondamentale importanza per la produzione di un formaggio a latte crudo, squisito e dalla ricetta semplice. La produzione avviene solo ed esclusivamente tra luglio e agosto.
