Hiking in Scheibenberg

From Schlettau Castle to Scheibenberg and the organ pipes, on the region's long-distance hiking trails.

The circular hiking trail leads from Schlettau to the nearby Scheibenberg. The ascent is via several steps made of basalt stones, which Ottomahr Zahm created over 100 years ago.

Fichtelbergmarsch 2018. The starting point is the outdoor store MMPT at the Sportforum in Chemnitz. Thanks to the great organization, everything was manageable on 26.5, many thanks to the whole team!

Route created from the GPS recording of my hike on 2023-05-13 as part of the 19th Fichtelbergmarsch event (MMPT, Chemnitz). Also a contribution to the ULTRAMARSCH Quarterly Challenge "Screw the wings, I'm going on foot" – 1500km "Just Hike" in the 2nd quarter of 2023. The route to Schlettau Castle is something   for lovers of historic buildings and parks. The hike leads across fields, meadows, and through spruce forests and offers impressive viewpoints, imposing historic buildings, and opportunities for relaxing hours in a well-maintained park. In the summer months, in addition to visiting the castle, you can also take a swimming break at the Schlettau outdoor pool  .

The Scheibenberg is a distinctive mountain in the Erzgebirge, reaching a height of 807 meters. At the summit of the Scheibenberg, there is a viewing platform from which visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view over the Erzgebirge and the surrounding area. The mountain is also a popular destination for hikers and offers numerous hiking trails that wind through dense forests and along charming ridges.
