Hiking in Rimsting

The hike along the northern shore of the Chiemsee offers beautiful views over the "Bavarian Sea" towards the Kampenwand. Furthermore, it is recommended at all times of the year.

The Grenzenlos hiking route leads in five stages from Bad Endorf, Rimsting, Prien a.Chiemsee, Frasdorf, Aschau i.Chiemgau, Sachrang, across the Austrian border to Erl - back to Bavaria via the Zollhausbrücke near Oberaudorf and further to Kiefersfelden. At Hechtsee, the route leads again to Tyrol and ends in Kufstein. This route is presented as a five-day division. All stages can also be hiked individually and in both directions. Signage is currently only partially available. The route will be re-signposted in 2025.

This is hiking trail No. 16. All hiking trails are signposted from the trail sign at the car park of the Chiemgau Thermen. Enjoy the great view of the Chiemgau Alps and the Simssee on the section of the trail after Antwort.

Explore the romantic forest and lake landscape of the Eggstätt Hemhofer Seenplatte. A challenging hike with ascents and partly wet paths. A good hiking map is recommended!

The hike from Rimsting to Ratzinger Höhe with its varied hilly landscape and overwhelming views of lakes and mountains passes 12 exciting stations. Well suited for a family hike.

The circular route follows paths near the shore over about 54 km around the Chiemsee. Beautiful views of the lake and the Alpine panorama make it one of Bavaria's most popular walking paths. Some sections are only allowed for pedestrians. The Chiemsee circular route is signposted in both directions. It is also suitable as an easy multi-day hike with few elevation changes.
