The Leine-Werra Nature Park Trail rightfully carries the quality seal of the German Hiking Association: as an outstanding quality route, it offers a thoroughly successful hiking experience with beautiful landscapes, sights, and regional hospitality.

From the Nature Park Center, you hike downstream on a gravel forest path and the bike path through the Lutter Valley to Uder. Accessible by wheelchair with a companion.

The "Eibenweg" leads you to one of Thuringia's oldest nature reserves, the "Lengenberg" near Fürstenhagen. Here, more than 4000 yews assert themselves against mighty beeches in one of Central Europe's largest populations.

The first stage of the Leine-Werra Nature Park Trail runs from Heilbad Heiligenstadt to Martinfeld. The starting point is the Market Square in Heiligenstadt. From here, the well-marked path winds for about 24.5 kilometers through the Upper Eichsfeld with its characteristic wooded shell limestone hills and well-kept half-timbered villages.

From the Nature Park Center, you first hike along the old railway line, follow the road, and then reach the Nature Recreation Park Neun Brunnen via several cycle paths.

On the total of nine stages of the Herkulesweg, we hike from Battenberg over diverse highlands, through quiet stream valleys, and past the Edersee to the spa town Heilbad Heiligenstadt.

On the forest adventure path, young and old explorers can solve nature puzzles in a small woodland, walk along a barefoot path, and climb a huge treehouse. Herb, tactile, and scent gardens as well as the lovingly designed farmers' garden invite you to linger. The outdoor area is fully accessible for wheelchair users and equipped with orientation aids for visually impaired visitors.
