From the northernmost to the southernmost point in the state of Salzburg in several stages, ideally following the direct straight connection between these two points. Stage 1: from Michaelbeuern, Thalhausen to Eugendorf, Wiesnerhäusl bus stop

The "St. Rupert Pilgrim’s Route" is located in the border area between Bavaria and Salzburg and runs essentially from north to south. One variant passes through Bad Reichenhall, thus offering a connection to the Way of St. James.

We start our hike on the Salzburg Jakobsweg in Oberhofen, a small village between Irrsee and Irrsdorf. On this beautiful stage, we mainly walk on side roads and field paths through a gentle and quiet hilly landscape with a constant view of the fascinating Alpine range to the south. On the easy path without major ascents or descents, we reach the Wallersee, whose idyllic shore we follow to the end. With views of the Alps, we walk the last part of the stage to Eugendorf.

From the Jakobskirche in Lengau, the route leads us across the pleasant rolling hills of the Upper Austrian Innviertel region to the Salzburg state border. We pass idyllic paths by Mattsee and Obertrumer See and go through the small town of Seekirchen to the church of St. Martin in Eugendorf, where we meet the main route of the Salzburg Pilgrimage Way.
