Hikes in Tignale

The "path of the waterfalls" is admittedly not long, but it is very scenic. You should be sure-footed on this hike - although it mainly leads along good hiking paths, a short section is steep and secured with a rope. The tour starts and ends in the district of Aer. If you come by car, you can park it at the hikers' car park. If you do the hike in reverse order to the signposts, you can reward yourself at the end of the approximately one-hour loop with a swim in the gorge with waterfall - first hike, then cool off!

Another hike not to be missed is the one to Dosso Piemp, which starts a little above Tignale and takes you along forest roads through shady woods to a refuge suitable for a rest. From here you have a good view of Lake Garda and Monte Baldo, and it is not far to the 1,207m peak of Dosso Piemp.

Tignale is a municipality consisting of a total of six villages: Aer, Gardola, Oldesio, Olzano, Piovere and Prabione. The villages are scattered on a plateau on the western shore of Lake Garda and are part of the Parco dell'Alto Garda Bresciano. Although none of the villages is directly on the beach, there are bathing facilities in Tignale below the steep cliff - ideal for cooling off after strenuous and panoramic tours.

Who loves to browse to their heart's content at an Italian market and stock up on provisions for the next hikes up? Every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. there is a weekly market in the Gardola district on Piazzale delle Ginestre. Here you can really get in the mood for the Italian way of life.
