Alpine hike (T4) from the Mattmark Reservoir across the Allalin and Hohlaub glaciers to the Britannia Hut (3,028 m) and on to the Felskinn or Morenia mountain station. Two marked glacier crossings, panoramic views of the Strahlhorn, Rimpfischhorn, and Allalinhorn. Only when the route is clear of snow, visibility is good, and conditions are safe.

    Ich war heute bei schönstem Herbstwetter mit meinem 10-jährigen Sohn auf dieser sehr schönen Wanderung. Sie ist meiner Meinung nach auch für Kinder und Jugendliche zu empfehlen. Bedingung ist, dass die Eltern Bergwegerfahrung haben und die Kinder/Jugendliche zuverlässig konzentriert laufen können. Es hat vor allem beim Abstieg ein paar Stellen, wo ein vom Weg abkommen tödlich enden würde. Kleinere Kinder würde ich daher mit einem Seil sichern, dann ist es aber ein sehr gut machbarer Weg. Gerade das teilweise leichte Klettern macht den Weg auch für Kinder spannend und zu einer schönen Bergerfahrung. Das man unterwegs wohl fast immer Steinböcke sieht ist natürlich noch das Tüpfchen aufs i.

    The suonen circular trail was a starter hike for my partner and I, it circles around the whole village and gives you an idea of what there is to explore in the Saas Fee. It is August 10th of 2025 — the watercourse (suonen) was full of running water throughout this entire hike, you too will pass a charming watermill and if you look closely you will see many butterflies and bellflowers! ( Easy hike, we’re both 23 and 170 lbs ).

    Did this in mid-October. The first hiking trail of this difficulty for me. The trail is well-marked, but did challenge my endurance. My travel time (with multiple stops for photos) was about 9.5 hours. I actually liked doing this in autumn, because the colors.
