Perfectly groomed ski slopes reach from 3,600 metres a.s.l. right down to the villages. It has been rated as the Alpine ski resort with the most reliable snow cover. A great network of cableways takes skiers and snowboarders up into the mountains. On top of that, the Free Republic of Holidays also offers plenty of other winter sports opportunities such as sledging,ice climbing, snowshoe trails, winter hiking, Bavarian curling, cross-country skiing and much more.
The Mediterranean climate, 300 days of sun, the wonderfully fresh and particulate-free air: the Saas Valley is unique. The four authentic mountain villages Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund, Saas-Almagell and Saas-Balen exude a magical Alpine charm, the wide range of restaurants from gourmet to fast food cater to all tastes, and party animals can make the most of the rich and varied night life.
Did you know that you can even ski on the glaciers of Saas-Fee in the summer? That’s why most of the world’s skiing teams train here. But there are also plenty of other ways to enjoy the Saas Valley during the summer months. The 4,000-metre peaks, via ferrata trails, hiking trails and biking routes all offer hundreds of opportunities for fun and memorable days in the mountains.
