A hike in the Tafeljura area from Brugg to Villigen. The south-facing slopes are ideal vineyards, to the northeast the valley floor spreads out and forms the confluence of the Aare, Reuss, and Limmat rivers. The Romans already recognized what this region has to offer.

From Peak to PeakThe wooden Cheisacherturm was only built in 2010 and is thus one of the younger observation towers in our hiking area. From the platform, nearly 24 meters high, the panoramic view extends not only to the nearby Jura and the Black Forest, but on clear days even to the Alps. Four panorama panels and two telescopes help to identify the individual mountains. In addition to Bürerhorn and Schinberg, our hike also includes other peak destinations which do not have a tower but also offer fascinating views and insights.

On a Discovery Tour The Geissberg is certainly one of the most exciting and versatile mountains in the canton of Aargau. Around 1960, a dozen chamois were released there – nomen est omen. This colony has thrived so well that today, with a bit of luck, some of these now 150 animals can be observed. Numerous military buildings meanwhile indicate that the Geissberg also held central importance for the Swiss army. The ruins of Besserstein from the 13th century, the 145 m high transmission mast, the large quarry for limestone and marl extraction, as well as the sunlit vineyards on the southern slope, are further witnesses to the diverse use of this area in the past and present.
