Hikes in Molvena

It is a challenging route that must be tackled with good preparation and, depending on the pace, will involve a time varying between 4.5 hours and 2 hours for the most trained trail runners!

The path winds through woods, the Rio valley and the scenic descent along Via Collalto

It is a fairly challenging path, with a climbing elevation difference of 400 m. 

The path winds on the first hillside of the Municipality of Colceresa, up to a maximum altitude of 170 metres, and is characterized by wide views of the plain and suggestive passages between acacia woods, cherry groves, vineyards and olive groves.

Another nice ride to do among these hills, just how I like them, almost always along paths far from traffic and smog. And it's a challenging ride but very rewarding. I recommend it all year round, these hills are always beautiful.

We start from the parking lot of the Molvena church. We immediately climb up to the church, located on a hill, where we can overlook the surrounding panorama, made up of gentle hills and wide agricultural spaces, with cheerful villages nestled in between, helped also by the beautiful day ahead. From the small settlement, we pass by Trattoria da Battista, where a charming Alpine hat stands out, and then we take a grassy descending path, following the route of the Capriolo, then returning to the SP70 road which we follow for a short stretch (here we share the route with the Cammino del Beato Claudio and the Sentiero della Tisa). Along the Capriolo path, we cross and occasionally share other routes that characterize the Colceresa area. These are: the Chiocciola, the Riccio, the Scoiattolo, and the Lepre, in order of length. We also often encounter the Colceresa trail which however bears a provincial ownership logo, marked by white and red signs with the emblem of the Veneto Region. Around us, spring bursts forth in all its color variety, and we, aided by the splendid day, even if a bit cool, fully enjoy it. Heading south, we reach Tibalda, spotting Mure not far away, until reaching the SP 121. We leave it shortly after in an ideal turnaround, now turning north. We follow the Riale path, losing our way briefly but rejoining the trail shortly after. Climbing, we arrive at Costa d'Olio, follow the Sentiero Sonco Gobbi until Lavarda. Here we cross to the other side of the valley and again intersect the Cammino del Beato Claudio. We return to the road deciding to eat something in a local spot and find the Trattoria Fogliati where we eat well although simply. We continue slightly cutting the planned path uphill, then rejoining it a little further on. Another long stretch in the woods and then we catch sight of Molvena's bell tower, where we return uphill with a beautiful staircase.  We visit the church and return to the cars. On the way back, we stop in Marostica for a short aperitif break.  Technical data: 21.6 km (including a couple of route mistakes) / total time 7:30 / Positive elevation gain, not continuous but alternating. 770 m / personal rating E/FM

La terza tappa del "cammino dell'Eremita e la Stella" sulla presenza degli eremi e chiese gestite da eremiti lungo la Pedemontana Vicentina, parte da Marostica e arriva a Breganze, attraversando le colline dove sorgono i paesi di Pianezze, Molvena, Mure e Colceresa, arrivando nella valle del Chiavone. E’ un tracciato impegnativo che va affrontato con una buona preparazione e, a seconda del ritmo, comporterà un tempo variabile tra le 4.5 ore e le 2 ore per i più allenati trail runners!
