    ACHTUNG! Mein Urteil bezieht sich nicht auf die beschriebene Wanderung, sondern auf die unten stehende Alternative. Der beschriebene Spaziergang ist weitgehend fantasiert. Dies betrifft den Abschnitt zwischen Kennfuss bis zur Abfahrt nach Strotzbüsch. Ich versuchte, der Route zu folgen, aber das Gelände machte es zumindest für mich unmöglich. Viele werden jedoch zwischen Bad Bertrich und Strotzbüsch eine Rundwanderung machen wollen. Ich empfehle Ihnen, der angegebenen Route von Bad Bertrich bis in die Nähe von Strotzbüsch, einem angenehmen Naturcampingplatz, zu folgen. Schauen Sie auch jetzt genau auf das GPS, denn die angezeigte Route macht noch einmal einen Sprung von etwa fünf Metern. Diese Route fand ich mindestens genauso faszinierend wie die viel gepriesene Wanderung entlang der Wlde Endert. Kurz vor Strotzbüsch stößt man auf den Maarepfad, der hier den Hang hinunterführt. Folgen Sie dem Maare-Pfad den Hang hinauf zur Drei Eichen Hütte. Hier wechseln Sie auf den Maaren en Thermen Weg Richtung Endpunkt Bad Bertrich. Viel Spaß.

    Ich bin den kompletten Weg Maare Thermen Weg in zwei Tagen von Ulmen (Busbahnhof) nach Bad Bertich Anfang August gegangen. Ich komme aus Bonn und bin mit Öffis (Zug und Bus) angereist. Übernachtet habe ich auf halber Strecke in Lutzerath im Hotel Maas. Hier nun meine Bewertung und Hinweise: Es begann zunächst nicht gut, denn der Weg der aus Ulmen herausführt ist zunächst eine öde Aspahltpiste (ca 2-3 km) und insofern keine gute Einstimmung auf diesen wirklichschönen Weg. Am Waldrand auf der Höhe wurde er dann endlich naturnaher, und so blieb er dann auch. Im weiteren Verlauf vermied der Weg Asphaltstrecken (bis auf Dorfdurchquerungen). Der Weg zeigte sich durchweg abwechslungsreich. Mal breite Walwege, mal enge Pfade, stets eine gute Wegqualität; schöne Aussichten (besonders von der Achterhöhe), meistens moderate Anstiege (bis auf zwei drei Ausnahmen). Die begleitenden Hinweise (Tafeln am Wegesrand) auf Region und Besonderheiten (zB Vulkanismus in Wolperath, oder das Kerbholz) sind lehrreich und interessant. Das Hotel auf halber Strecke war empfehlenswert. Insgesamt kann ich den Weg sehr empfehlen. Die angegebenen 35 km gesamt stimmen nicht. Es sind rund 38 km bis Bertrich. Am Wegende ist die Bushaltestelle zum Bus nach Bullay (einmal stündlich), dort Zug. Übrigens habe ich unterwegs ( ich ging Montag und Dienstag) keine Menschenseele auf dem Weg getroffen. Schade! denn der Weg ist aus meiner Sicht (ich bin Vielwanderer) recht empfehlenswert. Abschließend ein megagroßes Lob an die Wegepaten: die Beschilderung ist sensationell gut! Verlaufen eigentlich unmöglich. Wer Fragen hat kann mich gerne anschreiben. Tschüss.

    SUPER tolle Streckenführung! Das erste Tal entlang des Baches hat mir am besten gefallen. Idylle pur. Ansonsten auch absolut ruhig, keine Straße, PERFEKTE Beschilderung, schöne Länge, gepflegte Wege, viele Pfade, Abwechslung zwischen Tälern und Aussichten. Lediglich das erste Stück über den langen Asphalt war nicht so gut. Ein paar Bänke wären auch schön. Ansonsten TOP!!!

    Sehr schöner Wanderweg, der auf seiner Länge alles zu bieten hat. Der Start in Ulmen ist grandios mit Jungferweiher, Ulmener Maar und der Burg in Ulmen. Weitere Highlights auf dem Weg, dass Wandern entlang des Üssbach, Wollmerather Kopf, Achterhöhe, Falkenlay mit Steinzeitgrotte, der Abstieg nach Bad Bertrich auf einem sehr schönen Pfad.

    Super toller Weg, auch aufgrund der Länge. Absolut ruhig gelegen, kein Verkehrslärm ( bis auf ganz wenig Ausnahmen), kein Asphalt, viele Pfade, Abwechslung, ausreichend Bänke, sehr gute Ausschilderung. Natur pur ohne Menschen. Habe niemanden getroffen. Die Tour lässt sich ggf.an 2 Stellen auf 17 km verkürzen.

    Sehr schöner Wanderweg. Führt durch wunderbare Wald Stücke. Am besten gefällt mir die Strecke nach Strotzbüsch zur Mühle hin zu den Drei Eichen. Auf jeden Fall sind von dort aus die 8 km nach Lutzerath mit zu nehmen.
