This combined city and nature hike through Lienz leads from the left bank of the Isel River to Schloss Bruck, via Gribelehof, continuing on the nature trail to Leisach. From there, cross the Drau Bridge to the Dolomiten Forest Tavern (stop for refreshments). Then along the right bank of the Drau River to its mouth. Continue via the station square to the main square, through Rosen and Kreuz alleys to the Dominican Sisters' Women's Convent (Visitation of Mary), over the Isel Bridge to St. Andrä Parish Church, and through Beda Weber Alley back to the starting point.

Experience in the Lienz Dolomites Landscape Conservation AreaAnyone who looks into the 33-meter deep, shaft-like rock gorge at the Klammbrückl and observes the endless play of the wild water understands why this area was declared a natural monument in 1986. Equally remarkable is the Klapffall in the valley interior with the via ferrata »Hidden World« for experienced climbers. The trail passes there over a rocky valley step to the tree-shaded high pasture leading to the Kerschbaumeralm shelter.

This beautiful little hike leads from the Hotel-Restaurant Gribelehof to the charming Reiterkirchl and offers wonderful views over the town of Lienz and the Drava Valley. A nice, easy circular hike above Lienz. It starts at the Hotel-Restaurant Gribelehof (with a beautiful chapel and impressive views over Lienz) and initially goes up to the Bergstation of the Schlossbergbahn on the Moosalm (there are various sports facilities, summer toboggan run), continues to the reservoir pond of the Taxerbache and on to the hiking destination Reiter Kirchl (with a beautiful chapel and rest area). From Reiterkirchl, it goes back to the Tschwabele farm and, via the nature trail, back to the Gribelehof, which invites you to stop for refreshments.

Drau Cycle Route: Toblach – Lienz, Hohe Tauern National Park – Tauferer Valley An attractive cycling route runs through the entire Puster Valley—between Mühlbach in South Tyrol and Lienz in East Tyrol—and follows mostly dedicated, car-free paths. The downhill section between Toblach/Innichen and Lienz is particularly popular—especially among Italian cyclists. Almost all of them take the train back. For those who are fit, have a mountain bike, and have time for an extra day, we recommend a return trip that takes you along a gravel road through the Hohe Tauern National Park, over a pass nearly 2,300 meters high, and through the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park into the Tauferer Valley and back to the South Tyrolean Puster Valley.

Traditional penitential procession to Maria Luggau in the LesachtalThe historic pilgrimage leads from the Puster Valley over the Kofel Pass to Maria Luggau. The much-photographed village scene is dominated by the church of Maria Schnee, solemnly elevated to Basilica Minor in 1986, and the monastery run by the Servites. It is the religious center of the Lesachtal and a pilgrimage site known far beyond the borders of Carinthia with a 500-year church history. In comfortable monastery cells, pilgrims are offered comfortable overnight accommodations.
