First: The hike runs above the Saar, not the Mosel! The first part, just over 5 km long, leads gently but steadily uphill along pleasant forest paths to the hiking parking lot. Then the character changes, forest trails increase, several viewpoints into the Saar valley including benches offer variety until you finally reach the narrow rock landscape at Maunert with summit cross at 416 m. The following descent is difficult, concentration and surefootedness are required.
