    Das ist zweifelsohne eine sehr schöne und abwechslungsreiche Wanderung. Da in der Beschreibung der Tour bei Kondition sechs von sechs Punkten angegeben ist, hatten wir uns entschlossen, in der Lötschenpasshütte zu übernachten. Die Technik ist mit drei von sechs Punkten bewertet. Dieselbe Bewertung der Technik haben auch die Touren «Vom Schwarzsee auf die Kaiseregg» und die Wanderung von Habkern über das Gemmenalphorn zum Niederhorn («Herausragende Gratwanderung mit knieschonender Talfahrt»). Diese letztgenannten Touren haben wir kürzlich problemlos geschafft. Sie führten durchgängig über markierte Wege. Die Lötschenpasstour führt auch über den Lötschengletscher, ist dort aber gut mit Pfählen signalisiert. Danach gibt es aber Stellen im Fels, an welchen man sich seinen Weg selber suchen muss und unseres Erachtens mit Vorteil die Hände benutzt. Stöcke schienen uns dabei eher hinderlich. Ein wesentlich jüngerer Wanderer hat uns erzählt, dass er sich hier sogar verstiegen habe. Wir haben die Tour zwar geschafft, an dieser Stelle war es uns aber nicht ganz wohl. Hätten wir die technischen Anforderungen gekannt, hätten wir diese Tour nicht unternommen. Damit künftige Wanderinnen und Wanderer die technischen Anforderungen dieser Tour nicht unterschätzen, schlagen wir vor, die Bewertung der Technik mindesten auf vier von sechs Punkten zu erhöhen. Für den Abstieg auf die Lauchernalp haben wir am zweiten Tag den sehr schönen Weg über die Kummenalp gewählt, welchen wir technisch mit drei von sechs Punkten bewerten würden.

    Eine wunderschöne, wenn auch anstrengende Wanderung! Der Bus ins Gasterntal muss telefonisch reserviert werden und kostet 13 CHF pro Person. Die Fahrt ist sehr eindrücklich. Die Wanderung beginnt mit einer Hängebrücke, anschliessend geht es im Zickzack den Berg hoch. Nach einem Plateau folgt ein weiterer Zickzack-Aufstieg bis zu einem Schneefeld. Da sieht man nicht immer sofort wo man laufen muss. Danach folgt ein anstrengender Teil auf einem Geröllfeld/-hügel bis man schliesslich die Hütte auf dem Lötschenpass erreicht. Wir sind vielleicht knapp einem Dutzend Wanderern begegnet bis hier, scheint also ein kleiner Geheimtipp zu sein. Hier hat man Sicht auf die Walliserberge, auch wenn sie nicht ganz so nahe erscheinen. Der Abstieg ist mal geröllig, mal ein schmaler Pfad. Wir hatten Glück und sind einem süssen Schwarznasenschaf mit Baby begegnet, welches sich über eine halbe Stunde streicheln liess. Der Abstieg zur Lauchernalp zieht sich ziemlich, meist aber im Zickzack. Bitte nehmt euren Abfall wieder mit, merci!!
