Hikes in Eindhoven

During this route, you will walk leisurely through Eindhoven. Eindhoven is the city of lights, and that is because the company Philips is located in Eindhoven. Eindhoven is the 5th largest city in the country and already received city rights in 1232. 

During this route you walk through the city park of Eindhoven. 

This route is perfect for children or for a short walk, as the route is only 5 kilometers.

Wonderful walk along the edge of Eindhoven and Nuenen. The start is at the Opwettense watermill, once painted by Vincent van Gogh.  Then through the Eckarts walking forest to the Karpendonkse Plas. Here you pass the Karpendonkse Hoeve where the restaurant The Harbour Club Eindhoven is now established.  We then walked along the river De Dommel to the Eckart estate. This estate is now used for housing people with intellectual disabilities. On the Eckart estate you will find the classical mansion Castle Eckart built in 1906.  Afterwards we walked back via farmland to the Opwettense watermill.  A beautiful walk close to and in the city where you surprisingly encounter peaceful nature. 

During this route, you will discover the surroundings of Eckart Castle. 

The Dommel River is the common thread running through this 10-kilometer walk from the bus stop in Nederwetten to the Eindhoven train station. As you make your way from a quiet village to a bustling city at a leisurely pace, you’ll discover how nature, history, science, and the city gradually blend into one another. If you take a break halfway at De Herberg, you’ll see that the Dommel connects not only nature and the city, but also people. You’ll follow parts of the hiking trail network, the Brabants Vennenpad, and occasionally an unmarked path. The trail markers aren’t always easy to spot along the way, so keep an eye on the directions or the GPS track. Please note: this route is not passable during high water!

Wandeling vanaf bushalte Valkenswaardseweg, Waalre naar station Geldrop.  Deze wandeltocht voert ons door een verrassend gevarieerd landschap rond Valkenswaard, Gijzenrooi en Zesgehuchten. Onderweg komen we door bossen, langs vennen en visvijvers, over oude zandpaden en door een kleinschalig Brabants landschap. Maar minstens zo interessant is de geschiedenis die hier op veel plekken nog voelbaar is. Van valkenvangers en viskwekers tot smokkelaars, postbodes en een legendarische herbergierster: het landschap vertelt onderweg zijn eigen verhaal.

Hiking route through the Dommeldal, Rundal, Panberg and Cartierheide. Varied area with wet feet at this time (February 2024) in Dommeldal and Rundal due to the river overflowing its banks and huge saturation of the meadows with water from prolonged rainfall. Nevertheless a very beautiful trip through the Brabant Kempen
