Hiking tours around Ehrwald

In summer, Ehrwald is a true paradise for hiking enthusiasts. Pleasant hikes into the valley, on the alpine meadows at medium altitude, from the mountain station to the Coburger Hut or high alpine hiking tours up to the Zugspitze – the region offers a large selection of hiking trails with different levels of difficulty. Hiking tours to Lermoos to the Naturarena Mieminger Plateau or the Fernpass lakes require good condition and sure-footedness. On such demanding tours, some altitude meters must be overcome to reach the destination and enjoy the view from above. The walking time is about 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Hiking trails to the surrounding regions

Due to its location, Ehrwald is the ideal starting point for hikes of all kinds. Numerous opportunities and well-marked hiking trails can also be found for families with children to explore the beautiful natural landscape. The Zugspitzi water experience trail at the Gaisbach starts at the valley station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn. At various stations, you can learn exciting and interesting facts about Ehrwald through puzzles and games. Along the way, there is a Kneipp trail, water games, and places to relax.

Beautiful hiking tours for climbers are offered by the Ehrwalder Sonnenspitze, probably the best-known high peak of the Mieming mountain range. The EhrWALLd climbing hall is suitable for families with children, while mountain bikers can enjoy varied routes through the stunning landscape.

Challenging hikes to the Biberwier saddle

For this dream tour you must be absolutely free from dizziness and sure-footed, as the demands on such hiking tours are enormous. Endurance and courage are also required for the subsequent descent over the Immensteig. The starting point for these hikes is the parking lot in the center of Ehrwald. Hike along the panorama trail through the larch forest towards Biberwier. Then follow the Knappensteig, which initially begins with a leisurely ascent and shortly after becomes increasingly steep. Both the steep ascent and the proximity to the precipice require the highest concentration when hiking.
