The small but charming wizard village of Neuses am Berg looks back on an almost 800-year history. Its rural tranquility creates a relaxed ambiance. The two church towers can be seen from afar; Neuses was denominationally divided since the Reformation era: Catholics were subject to the Würzburg Prince-Bishop, Protestants to the Ansbach Margrave. A witness to this time is the councilor's table in the Renaissance town hall: In the middle a dividing line, it bears the Würzburg coat of arms on the left and the Ansbach coat of arms on the right. On the way to Schwarzenau, we first pass through vineyards, then hike along the nature reserve on the right bank of the Main near Sommerach. This natural section of the Main valley offers special protection to endangered animal and plant species with willow bushes, remnants of floodplain forest, and herb-rich hillside forests and meadows.> We start our hike in Neuses am Berg 01. The path now initially leads us along the village street on the Dream Route Dettelbacher Dörfer – when standing with our back to the town hall – to the right towards the pilgrimage church Maria im Sand. We follow the priority road to the left and shortly thereafter cross Bocksbeutelstraße into Schwarzenauer Straße. At the fork at the outskirts, we keep left, past the Stork, by the sports field. On an asphalt path, we now walk along the vineyards. After a few minutes, at the fork, we go slightly down to the right, then continue down the hill on asphalt at a left-hand bend. After just under a quarter of an hour, we reach the Main floodplain. Here we turn right and continue along the asphalt path, which eventually leads us to the edge of a small forest and thus to the Right Main Bank nature reserve 02. We now follow a path, where the Stork as a waymark can occasionally be seen hidden on a tree. We hike almost two kilometers on this path, first through the small forest, then along the forest edge until it turns into an asphalt path. This leads us straight to Schwarzenau 03, first into Friedhofstraße, then at the intersection straight on into Mainstraße. At the campsite, we turn right towards the church of St. Laurentius. At Stadtschwarzacherstraße, we turn left, shortly after turning right into Dr.-Schlögl-Straße, now on the Franconian Marian Way. At the last house on the street, we turn right onto Lerchenbühlweg. At the intersection, we continue straight on to Neuseser Straße, after a few hundred meters then turn left at the tar fork, continuing on the Franconian Marian Way. It soon becomes a field and gravel road, which we follow straight over Geißberg 04 towards Dettelbach . Soon we walk again on an asphalt path, which soon leads us through the new development of Dettelbach. At Sandweg, we turn left, the next street leads us with the Franconian Marian Way to the right into Balthasar-Neumann-Straße. At Lehnstein, we turn left again, then up to the pilgrimage church Maria im Sand in Dettelbach 05. At the church, we turn left onto the pilgrimage path and follow it uphill and around the church. From now on, the Dream Route Dettelbacher Dörfer leads us back towards Neuses. We follow Luitpold-Baumann-Straße to the right, past the swimming pool and secondary school of Dettelbach. Here we also go left uphill; after about 200 meters, we turn right onto a meadow path between the fields. With the Dream Route, we cross a field path once; at the end of the path, the marking leads us left onto a meadow path uphill, then right. We meet a field path again and a beautiful viewpoint with a resting bench 06. Here we turn left and follow the path again uphill towards Neuses. We now walk steadily straight past fields until after about 20 minutes we reach Neuses am Berg once again. Past the cemetery and left back into Schwarzenauer Straße, we now walk on the initial path back to the starting point in Neuses am Berg 01.
