The two-day itinerary starts at the Biasca FFS railway station. From the junction at Fración di Sotto, which can also be reached from the Biasca grottos, head towards Sass Carnón. From there, ascend through a forest of chestnut and beech trees until reaching Mount Svall. Continue through the Svall forest, rich in fir trees, then move to the left side of Val Pontirone, following its path until the Forcarella di Cava. From this point, the Cava hut can be reached in a few minutes.
