In Ihringen, dem wärmsten Ort Deutschlands, haben schon die Ururgroßeltern von Edgar Karl Karle an den südlichen Hängen des vulkanischen Kaiserstuhls Weinbau betrieben und die Liebe zum Wein und das erforderliche Engagement ist bis zur heutigen Generation weitergegeben worden.
Weingut Karl Karle: Früher & Heute

Als alteingesessener Kaiserstühler Traditionsbetrieb besitzt das Weingut Karl Karle eine lange Weinbaugeschichte. 1920 entschied sich Urgroßvater Karl den überschaubaren Betrieb weiterzuentwickeln. So fokussierte er das Rebengeschäft stärker als die übrigen landwirtschaftlichen Zweige, welche in den kleinen, dörflichen Gemischtbetrieben unabdingbar waren.

Sein Mut zahlte sich aus und seine Frau Emma hatte ein besonderes Genusstalent, die Qualität eines klassischen Ihringer Silvaners oder Ruländers zu begreifen und vorteilhaft einzusetzen.

Ihre „Weinzunge“ brachte die Familie dazu, schon damals runde, charaktervolle Weine zu produzieren und erfolgreich, vor allem in sämtlichen Schwarzwälder Gaststuben zu vertreiben. Einfach war es damals nicht. Mit Kaltblut oder Ochsen wurden die liegenden Fässer auf einfachen Holzkarren das Höllental hochtransportiert. Doch keine Schwierigkeit hat die Karles je davon abgehalten Ihre Weine bis dato, vom ländlichen Ihringen aus, auf die Reise in die weite Welt zu schicken.

Während den letzten 20 Jahren hat sich das Karl Karle-Team insgesamt vergrößert, ebenso die Rebfläche. Wo 1920 etwa vier Hektar hauptsächlich manuell bewirtschaftet wurden, ist das Weingut Karl Karle mit den Jahren auf ca. 45 Hektar angewachsen.

Täglich wird daran gearbeitet den Kaiserstühler Spät-, Weiß- und Grauburgundern eine gefestigte Rolle zu sichern und weinaffinen Menschen, die sich für badische Spitzengewächse begeistern, nahe zu bringen.
