First named "Auberge de l'ours noir", "Café Bertrand" and then "Café du Commerce", the restaurant has always been called "De bäre" in dialect. It is only in 2008 that the restaurant will take the name "L'ours": a literal translation of its historical Alsacian name. Family for 4 generations, it is today Christelle and Jean Wagner who are dedicated to bringing this unique place to life in Bischwiller. At the helm of the kitchen, Christian Wagner perpetuates the family culinary art with a traditional cuisine made on site and made from fresh products (often from the restaurant's vegetable garden and orchard), carefully selected.
