Dog-friendly holidays in Liptovský Mikuláš

The nature trail in the municipality of Pavčina Lehota created by members of the tourism association Združenie cestovného ruchu Pavčina Lehota is a place where you can spend a really pleasant day. The trail itself is not only about tourism, but also about beautiful panoramas from an observation tower, adrenaline on the bobsleigh track in the resort Žiarce, as well as about attractions listed on 11 boards that border this nature trail.

Mt Baranec (2184m) is a peak overlooking Liptovský Mikuláš. Along with Mt Kriváň, it is a dominant part of the town’s panorama and undoubtedly one of the most visited peaks of the Western Tatras and the region of Liptov. 

The goal is a distinctive saddle between peaks Tri kopy and Plačlivô on the main ridge of the Western Tatras. The Saddle connects the closed Smutná dolina (Smutná valley) in the winter with the Žiarská dolina (Žiarská valley). It is one of the most classic tours in the Western Tatras. However, it leads in rugged open terrain, so it is not suitable for less experienced skiers or beginners (especially in the case of icy conditions).

Poludnica is a very attractive peak for hikers. It rises to an altitude of 1548 meters above sea level and is only 7 kilometers away in a direct line from the center of Liptovský Mikuláš. Thanks to this, there is a beautiful view of the entire Liptov region from Poludnica.

The goal is the only mountain hut on the southern side of the Western Tatras, which is open every day, all year round. This route is popularly used by the very beginners, not that experienced skiers, whole families, or as a short hike in the mountains. It can also be completed with children, or as the first trip for people who are new to ski touring/ski mountaineering. Recently, it has become widely popular to visit the hut in the evening/dark, in the light of the headlight only.
