Climbing in Greiz County

Greiz, a town in Thuringia, is not only known for its historical sights, but is also a popular destination for climbers. There are several climbing areas around Greiz that offer numerous routes for both beginners and experienced climbers.

One of the best-known areas for sport climbing in Greiz is the 'climbing paradise'. It is located in the Vogtland Nature Park and offers a variety of different routes at all levels of difficulty. From easy beginner routes to challenging overhangs, everything is here.

To get to the 'climbing paradise', you can either drive to Greiz by car or public transport and then hike on to the nature reserve. The area is picturesquely nestled between forests and mountains and therefore also offers a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape while climbing.

In addition to the 'climbing paradise', there are other smaller rock and quarry areas around Greiz that can also be used for free climbing. Here you will find mainly more challenging routes for experienced climbers.
