From Hamburg Airport via Ratsmühlendamm to the Alster and from there along the Tarpenbek to the Schillingsbek, past the Feddersen Pond, over Julius Vossler Street, continuing to the DAV Alpine Center Hamburg.

From the S-Bahn station Krupunder, this route leads almost around the Krupunder Lake, through Eidelstedt, further over the Nordwest motorway interchange into the Eidelstedter Feldmark. The Niendorfer Gehege is crossed up to the Kollau. You leave the Kollau hiking trail at the level of Deelwisch and then go through the Stellinger Feldmark. At Gazellenkamp, you go east around the NDR facility and cross Julius-Vossler-Straße, then go straight ahead directly into Döhrnstraße to the DAV Alpinzentrum Hamburg.

With his New Crematorium (1930–1932), Fritz Schumacher – architect, founding member of the Werkbund and Hamburg’s long-serving building director – created a typical work of Northern German Brick Expressionism. The symmetrical complex was his last building in Hamburg.

Michaelsen Country House
Architect Karl Schneider was once regarded as a pioneer of the New Architecture movement. One of his early works, the Michaelsen Country House, was constructed in the Hamburg district of Blankenese in 1923. The idiosyncratic ensemble of cubic and rounded forms is one of his most famous buildings.
