A loop hike around Lake Serraia and Piazze, starting from Baselga di Piné and passing through Rizzolaga, Campolongo, and Piazze. ————- A cycling and hiking trail on a mix of paved and unpaved roads. Fully accessible to strollers, pets, and people with disabilities. —————. There is only one somewhat steep climb, lasting a few minutes (on concrete), on the section connecting Lake Serraia and Lake Piazze, near the hydroelectric dam. —————- As of today (late June 2026), asphalting work is underway, forcing pedestrians to walk along the road with traffic; since the road is narrow, extra caution is required. Alternatively, you are advised to follow a scenic route that climbs to the nearby village of Cialini. —————- If you plan to go swimming, keep in mind that these are alpine lakes; due to their shallow depth (max 15–18 meters), they aren’t particularly cold—in fact, I found them very pleasant—but the shores drop off very steeply. —————- Fun fact: In winter, these lakes are completely frozen and offer various diving courses and workshops. —————. Hiking boots are always recommended to avoid ankle injuries and/or dangerous falls. In the mountains, the weather can change quickly, so bring a light jacket and a sweater even in summer. —————- PARKING NOTE: I recommend parking at Via del Ferar 12 in Basaglia di Pinè and continuing on foot. In the photo gallery, you can find the locations of other parking lots with direct access to the beaches.
