Eidetind is a striking peak located just south of Narvik in Northern Norway, rising to approximately 1,020 meters above sea level. Nestled in the Ofoten region, this granite giant is renowned among climbers for its dramatic alpine profile, solid rock, and varied climbing opportunities.
Key Features for Climbers: Quality Granite: The mountain is primarily composed of clean, coarse-grained granite, offering excellent friction and solid protection placements—ideal for both traditional and alpine climbing.
Classic Alpine Routes: The North Ridge of Eidetind is considered a classic alpine outing, often compared to well-known ridges in the Lofoten Islands. It provides a full-value adventure with scrambling, exposed ridge walking, and multiple rope-lengths of climbing at moderate difficulty levels (typically UIAA III–V).
Multipitch Trad Climbing: Several established multipitch trad routes ascend the faces and ridgelines of Eidetind, with difficulties ranging from easy to advanced.
Winter and Mixed Climbing: In colder seasons, Eidetind becomes a serious objective for winter alpinists. Its ridges and gullies can provide excellent mixed climbing under the right conditions.
