Portugal Wildscapes
Il progetto Portugal Wildscapes è un progetto turistico con un impatto positivo sugli ecosistemi del Basso Alentejo e sulle comunità locali. Attraverso un'iniziativa pionieristica in Portogallo, una percentuale dei prodotti venduti dai partner è destinata al Fondo di Conservazione Portugal Wildscapes per investire in progetti di conservazione, salvaguardia delle specie e miglioramento degli habitat del basso Alentejo.
L'ente gestore del progetto è la Portugal Secret Nature – Associazione di Turismo e Conservazione della Natura, un'organizzazione senza scopo di lucro, fondata ad Almodôvar nel gennaio 2020, con l'obiettivo di promuovere il turismo attivo responsabile e contribuire alla conservazione della natura nel basso Alentejo. La rete di associati include aziende legate al turismo e enti governativi, permettendo un'alleanza strategica tra il settore pubblico e privato.
Per dinamizzare il turismo naturalistico nella regione, l'Associazione investe nel miglioramento delle infrastrutture di visita e fornisce supporto tecnico alle imprese associate per lo sviluppo di nuovi prodotti turistici. Sono organizzate azioni di formazione e potenziamento per fornire agli operatori gli strumenti necessari a garantire esperienze turistiche di eccellenza. Per promuovere l'adozione di misure di sostenibilità, gli associati si impegnano a implementare i principi enunciati nella Carta di Impegno.
Portugal Secret Nature ambisce a essere un esempio nazionale e internazionale di conciliazione tra turismo naturalistico e conservazione della natura.
