Viewpoints in Rovigo

Maritime fraction of the municipality of Porto Viro, located to the right of the mouth of the Po di Levante. A wide arm of the sea separates it from Scanno Cavallari.

The Scardovari lagoon is a saltwater inlet located between the mouths of the Po di Gnocca and the Po delle Tolle. The lagoon was formed due to the lack of debris from three old branches of the river blocked by the Venetians, and by the elongation of the more lateral branches of the Po di Gnocca and the Tolle.Within this inlet, rare and fascinating aquatic birds coexist, such as herons, egrets, grebes, and various waders (towards the sea shoals).

The Adige River, the main actor of this amphibious territory, meets the sea.
