    Ich habe die Tour heute von Locarno aus gemacht. Der erste Abschnitt ist flach aber landschaftlich sehr schön. Ab Caldenazzo beginnt dann der erste Anstieg auf sehr breiter Straße und mit mäßiger Steigung. Alles easy, auch die Abfahrt bis Taverne geht ruck zuck, da war ich noch wirklich guter Dinge und hab mich auf das Monster gefreut. Es ist dann wie in der Beschreibung, es geht echt krass los und genauso geht es dann weiter. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern wann ich zuletzt einen Berg weitestgehend im Stehen hochgefahren bin. Landschaftlich wird es oben dann superschön mit kleinen Dörfern, kleiner Straße und herrlichem Wald. Zurück am See entlang auch toll, es empfiehlt sich ein Rücklicht für die Tunnel. Leider am See wenig Einkehrmöglichkeiten. Insgesamt eine landschaftlich schöne und sportlich herausfordernde Tour. Vielen Dank dafür!

    Ich habe die Runde heute in abgewandelter Form von Luino aus gemacht. Das "Monster von Malcantone" ist ein echtes Schmankerl für Bergziegen und solche die es werden wollen. Wer sich noch ein "Psychoschmankerl" geben will fährt in Gaverone die Via Vallone hoch. Das ist eine ca. 250m langes schnurgerade Straße durch ein Wohngebiet, mit ca. 50m Höhenunterschied... Kann man nicht beschreiben, muss man erleben. Markus, danke für dieses grandiose Berg-Highlight, welches seinen Namen voll verdient!
