    Schöner und gut frequentierter Wanderweg entlang des Kraters, oben angekommen beginnt erst so wirklich die challenge, da sich der Krater auf einer Seite deutlich erhebt und man auf dem bröckligen Rand schon ordentlich ins schwitzen kommt. Sehr windig oben, aber ein super schöner Platz um mal durchzuatmen und sich ein Snack einzuverleiben. Komplette Runde mit Pause oben hat mich etwa 2,5-3 Stunden gekostet. Vom Anstieg her ist es sehr entspannt.

    Note that the Gpx route does not go all the way back to the car park; that’s another arduous 1.3 miles. I made the total walk 6.2miles. Hard work underfoot, but not particularly dangerous despite the winds on the ascent. Stunning views from the trig point.

    Grandiose Tour mit toller Aussicht und überwiegend guten Wegen - ein Grundmaß an Trittsicherheit sollte auf jeden Fall vorhanden sein. Sollte ich die Runde nochmal gehen, würde ich allerdings als Abstiegsweg ab dem Gipfel wieder den Aufstieg nehmen. Der Hirtenpfad, der am Ende vom Kraterrand hinab führt, ist mittlerweile so stark erodiert und besteht stellenweise nur noch aus feinstem Sand, dass der Abstieg ungemein rutschig und unangenehm zu gehen ist. Da auf diesem Rückweg auch keine besonderen Highlights mehr warten, würde das die Qualität der Tour nicht schmälern, sondern nur den Komfort erhöhen.

    Bis zur Landstraße eine sehr gute Tour, danach ist der Weg teilweise nicht mehr erkennbar und schwer zu gehen. Auch Ende Dezember unbedingt auf ausreichend Wasser achten. Die Vulkanbombe ist Bombe.
