The beach in the city is somewhat eclipsed by the shipyards, so tourists usually prefer other activities in Constanța: trips out at sea, admiring the old city center with its oriental atmosphere, visiting the Dolphinarium or watching a romantic sunset.
The popular Mamaia resort is part of the metropolitan area of Constanța, known for its vibrant nightlife during the summer season and for its luxurious services. Eforie is a more conventional resort, frequented by families with children and seniors. Tuzla has started to gain popularity in recent years, for its quiet beaches where you can still camp. Techirghiol, famous for its mud cures, seems to come with its own special offers.
To the east of the city lie the Murfatlar vineyards, also part of Constanța's metropolitan area, so do not hesitate to pay a quick visit here, for a tasting. Alternatively, look for Murfatlar wines in stores in Constanța - maybe the wine tastes different when you drink it on its own land!
