Today we had a great Schnitzeljagd (thanks for this “new” word Renate Mauser). The stone marks were good enough and the weather was perfect!

This is a lovely route with great views and definitely one to seriously consider . Delighted to have completed it and only 2 others in the walk today so you will have it to yourself . Words of warning as we got lucky : It takes a good 4 hours so do pay attention to the weather forecast as there is no shelter available. We did it on a moderately cloudy day in May , 11 degrees so with wind and rain would be chilly. The route is intermittently marked with red and yellow on stones but largely relies on others piling little stones on the bigger boulders to help guide the route . In poor visibility this route will be very very challenging to navigate. Even in good visibility you rely heavily on the app to stay on course. In places you literally have to battle through overgrown 6 foot high vegetation to proceed!! These are on the final ascent which is particularly poorly marked. Hopefully by summer these bits might be properly cleared to help walkers pass.

Excellent walk. Bit difficult in places as water flowed down the mountain making underfoot conditions tricky - even though temperature was 28 and no clouds.

great easy 3-4 hour hike! when we walked the part along the EN 339 trail down to the abandoned estate is poorly kept and completely gone at some points. we ended up just walking along the EN339. Could be an end-of-season problem though, as we also saw workers with weedwhackers taking care of the road elsewhere

Due to the fire in September, the north eastern part is totally burnt down. The marker stones are black on black, no chance without GPS.
